We made quick work of restoring our 1979 Jeep CJ-5. We had to do some minor engine and electrical repairs to get everything running smoothly under the hood. From there, we proceeded to dissembly. Primarily this project involved body work and painting. For the paint color, we went with a traditional hunter green for the body, but used a matte black for the hood and grill.
Here’s a shot of our Jeep CJ-5 partially dissembled and partially painted:
As you can tell from our before pictures, the vehicle needed some new tires.
Here’s a shot of the finished product, side by side with our 1972 FJ Cruiser:
As expected, this turned out to be a short and fun project. But now that it’s finished, it’s time for the real fun – rooting around the farm!
